A sad day

My father passed away at 6:30 AM this morning, after a long and complicated illness. He was in Orlando, Florida, with my stepmother, Tina. My sister Margaret just posted a couple pictures that I helped scan and clean up.

I have three sisters, Margaret, Brenda, and Susan. I have not been able to reach Susan with the news yet, she doesn’t seem to be home. Margaret, Brenda and I got together today with our children and made peanut-butter-bird-seed-pinecone bird feeders.

    😦

At least he got to see his grandchildren before his time passed. He must of been very proud of you.

    My sympathies,

I am so sorry. It is never easy. I just lost my Grandma in October, so I know how awful you must feel.

Patricia, Patrick, Audrey and I flew down there in late January to pay what turned out to be our final visit. I’m doubly glad of that now.

    Thanks for your sympathy.

Than you for your sympathy. One of these days you and Chad must come visit us (maybe we can play one of the games we haven’t tried out yet).

Would love to do that – take care of yourself and your family, and let us know when you’re ready. I’m getting stronger every week, and we have started adding some social stuff in again.

    Thanks for your sympathy.

The best thing you can do is to make extra sure that our biggest client stays happy with us because we rock so much and can get things done quickly and on time. I’ll let you know if there’s anything else.

My deepest sympathies, Richard. He is immortal, however, through the memories you and your family have and that you will pass down through your children.

I am sorry your father has died. Losing a parent is always a terrible thing, but when a son losses his father, the grief has a particularly poignant and primal quality. You can feel the severed connection of a fundamental part of your soul back to its source. All that is left to keep alive the connection are memories. I hope yours are good ones.

Thank you for your kind words. I’m doubly glad I got to visit Orlando with my wife and children in late January, even if it was only for a day.

    Richard,
Sorry to hear the news. I learned those things about him when I saw the obit yesterday too. Luckily, I did get a chance to talk with him a few times in the past year or so.
    My condolences,
    Uncle Keith
